With karting slowly returning to the UK after lockdown, we couldn’t wait to see how well our engines would do at Whilton Mill this weekend.

Firstly Mini X30 and Gabriel Stilp. After taking the first win in Rowrah for the UKC championship last weekend, Gabriel continued his fine form by winning all THREE of his heats and very nearly the final, but crossed the line in 2nd, taking fastest lap of the day too! Well done Gabriel, cracking drive on your SSPORT powered Mini X30!

Next came the Junior X30 drivers Sam Shaw, Oscar Joyce, Louie Johnston-Coull and Josh Agambar. All did well, with some stunning overtaking. Sam took the flag in Heat 2, followed closely by Oscar in P3 who climbed 32 places and Josh taking a top 10 finish! Sam took a respectably third in Heat 3, with Josh taking another top 10, crossing in p9, Louie climber 13 positions to come from 30th to 17th!!! As for the final…WOW, some mega racing saw Sam take a podium position for 2nd place with Oscar climbing to 7th.

Finally for Whilton, Roy Johnson in the Senior X30 class. Roy had been mid pack throughout the heats, with a P17 and two P16’s, but his consistency saw him start P10 for the final. After a delay the Seniors finally got out to battle. Roy was AWESOME, coming from his P10 starting position to finish Round 3 TRIUMPHANT, crossing the line in P1 and taking the top step of the podium.

What a day of racing, well done to all the SSport drivers. Fantastic results!

Then we have Kerpen, Germany. TWO SSport drivers took two 2nd places and the fastest lap in Final 2!
